I’m Michiel, a WordPress expert from the Netherlands. I built Make it WorkPress because I believe the organisations doing the most important work in the world deserve infrastructure that matches their ambition: fast, stable, sustainable, and genuinely managed.

The story

Started from frustration. Built on care.

We spent years building WordPress sites for organisations that mattered. And we kept running into the same problems: slow hosting, poorly managed plugins, themes that broke after updates, and sites that were developed badly.

Make it WorkPress started as a place to share hard-won WordPress knowledge: honest reviews, real performance data, and the kind of opinionated guidance that comes from actually using the tools. Over time, it became something bigger: a managed hosting platform built specifically for the organisations I wanted to serve.

Today, every site we host is one we actively manage. In the sense that we know what’s installed, We’ve read the changelog, we’ve seen WP-Admin and we try catch errors before they reach a visitor. WordPress is a powerful system, but it requires someone who understands it to stay reliable. That’s the job.

Make it WorkPress is run from Utrecht, in the center of the Netherlands. A city with a long history of craft and making.

Servers sit in EU data centres, so every site meets GDPR requirements by default. Most clients are across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the UK, though the work is fully remote.

Being in the Netherlands matters for one specific reason: it’s one of the best-connected countries in Europe for internet infrastructure, with excellent peering and latency to most of the continent.

Stability over Features

WordPress doesn't need more plugins. It needs fewer, better-managed ones. Every site I host is stripped of bloat and actively maintained to stay that way.

Honesty over Sales

I'll tell you when you don't need a bigger plan. I'll tell you when something isn't covered. I'd rather lose a sale than set an expectation I can't keep.

Sustainability = Standard

100% renewable energy isn't a selling point, it's a minimum requirement. The organizations I work with are trying to make the world better. Their infrastructure shouldn't undermine that.
